Overview
Queen is a generalist character that can use her Setpiece to protect herself from spells while attacking her opponent from tricky angles. Strategy and Synergy
- Setpiece — Queen uses Setpiece to protect herself and to control certain areas on the field:
- Neutral: Queen's goal with Setpiece is to get it as close to the front as possible in order to maximize how much space it pressures on the opponents side of the field.
- Boxing: Queen can place Setpiece in the enemy front column to effectively hinder their ability to traverse that column. The opponent will either have to commit to destroying it or be forced to move around it.
- Combos: Queen can use Setpiece attacks to initiate combos if she is in the correct position for it. It's ideal to combo into homing spells since they will hit regardless of where Queen is standing.
- Defense: Queen can use Setpiece as a way to block single-hit projectiles the opponent throws out, as well as a method for clearing traps and structures.
- Execute — Queen uses Execute to take control of the front column and to punish opponents who dare to move in front of her Setpiece.
- Neutral: The column coverage provided by Execute allows Queen to easily control the front column when she has the right spells to follow up with. Execute is also key to punishing the opponent for walking past the Setpiece or attempting to remove it.
- Boxing: Execute is fast and covers the entire column in front of Queen, which makes it a powerful boxing tool.
- Combos: Execute can serve as a strong combo starter for specific spells, as well as having the ability to combo into a Setpiece drop if the opponent is directly in front of Queen. The Execute beam can also be used as a combo starter.
- Interruptions: Queen can easily interrupt opponents who try and cast spells in the front column by using Execute.
- Minigun — Strong combo tool for Queen. She can easily combo into it with Execute or an Execute beam.
- Auto Slash — Strong combo tool for Queen. Auto Slash can be confirmed off of a Setpiece attack, Execute, or an Execute beam at specific ranges. It can be extended into other spells afterwards.
- Kunai — A good spell for combos and setups. It is a powerful combo starter and extender for many spells in the game. The poison it applies forces the opponent to move to the front column, where Queen can then easily hit them with Execute.
- Missiletow — A strong combo and poking tool. Missiletow can be extended into from Step Spells and also from her Setpiece attacks. It can combo into fast spells like Minigun at certain ranges or Rifle spells. It's also good for whiff punishing spells at a safe angle.
