Strategy and Synergy
- Ricoshield — Reva utilizes Ricoshield to threaten a large area of the opponent's field and to regenerate her shield:
- Neutral: Reva's main method of poking the opponent. Its low recovery combined with its large area coverage make it a strong and safe neutral tool.
- Interruptions: Ricoshield does not disappear if Reva is hit after it is done casting. This makes it a fairly reliable tool for interruption.
- Combos: Ricoshield is best followed up with homing spells since they are less vulnerable to hitstep combo breaks.
- Defense: Reva can regenerate shield by catching Ricoshield. This can be utilized defensively to shield more often and minimizing the risk of being shield-broken.
- Synergy: Ricoshield also offers a great deal of shield restoration, making Stinger and Shield Throw easier to consistently use. Ricoshield also offers a great amount of coverage, often pressuring enemies into positions they are more vulnerable to your area-specific attacks.
- Shield Bash — The invincibility provided by Shield Bash makes it a reliable tool for countering enemy spells:
- Movement: Shield Bash is a dash, giving Reva a quick way to move to the front when needed.
- Interruptions: The invincibility provided by this weapon makes it a powerful interruption tool. Reva is immune to pushing effects, frost explosions, and damage during the invincibility. She can use this to her advantage by anticipating attacks and Shield Bashing in response.
- Combos: Shield Bash combos into Ricoshield, as well as a very large amount of spells. Many melee spells that do not move the enemy, such as Breakout, can also combo back into Shield Bash.
- Defense: Reva can also use Shield Bash purely for defense instead of counterattacking. The invincibility it has makes it useful for evading damage in situations where she is likely to be hit. Reva can also dodge during the dash to avoid traps with additional effects, such as Claw Trap, or extend your potential invulnerability beyond the invincibility.
- Synergy: Shield Bashing over a Bouncing Blade will replace recovery and mid frames from Shield Bash with it's own cast, enabling even faster combos and providing you more security to move if you miss. Pull effects can be useful for getting enemies in range of Shield Bash.
- Fast Shield Drop: As a subweapon, Shield Bash suffers from less delay when transition to using it from shielding. Paired with the defensive nature of Shield Bash, this is especially potent.
