- I'll be right back!: Hol Horse is one of the only characters that is able to run both forward and backwards, giving him more maneuverability than most characters.
- Gun beats sword.: By pressing the Style button, Hol Horse is capable of enhancing some of his special moves, giving them new properties such as causing knockdown.
- You're up, J. Geil!: By spending 0.5 bars, Hol Horse can set up a trap that can be activated during nearly any action to crumple the opponent, complementing his zoning.

Hol Horse loves the ladies!
Hol Horse's meter gain and damage output can change depending on what the opponent's gender is; against female fighters, Hol Horse deals more damage, but has a reduced meter gain rate. This is indicated on top of Hol Horse's HH Gauge via a special icon that signals whether the effect is active or not.
