Introduction

Yoshikage Kira, the main antagonist of the fourth part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Diamond is Unbreakable, assumes the identity of the man named Kosaku Kawajiri with the goal of concealing his own and thus preserve his quiet lifestyle. Kosaku, while having Killer Queen just like Yoshikage Kira, is a very different character despite the similarities. Kosaku is a sluggish powerhouse capable of dealing some of the highest damage in the game, with a strong emphasis on guard crushing his opponents into explosive combos. With his strong normals and specials, his neutral game can be quite the threat, as he forces the opponent to play around his tools to not risk getting guard crushed. Both Stand-Off and Stand-On give him a toolbox of options to work with, Stand-On being the scarier one of the two as this is where his guard crushes will usually be coming from. With all of this together, Kosaku is one of the most terrifying characters in ASBR, as you will be blown to smithereens for making even the smallest mistake against him.

  • Only one bomb at a time: If bomb-related specials are used in succession, the previous bomb will be nullified, leaving Kosaku capable of having only one bomb out at any given time.
  • Air Bomb Cushion: Kosaku is the only character in the game with the ability to pushblock. While he is limited to performing it in Stand-On only (and for the cost of 0.5 bars), it is a powerful defensive tool when used at the right time.
Playstyle
JJASBR Kosaku Small Icon.png Kosaku Kawajiri is a Stand character that boasts explosive damage and devastating guard gauge pressure.
Pros Cons
  • Catastrophic Damage: Kosaku boasts some of the highest damage in the game, being able to pump out 500+ damage combos with very few resources.
  • Guard Gauge Destroyer: Kosaku also has some of the highest guard damage in the game, making blocking against him a massive risk as his air bubbles will melt through your guard gauge.
  • Battery: Kosaku is able to build meter very well and he isn't very costly when it comes to spending his meter, making meter a luxury to him.
  • Self-Reliant: Kosaku is incredibly self-sufficient: he does not need to worry too much about assist choice and his kit provides him with a ton of utility for a variety of situations in neutral and/or in pressure.
  • Potent Defense: Kosaku has a defensive option unique to him, that being a pushblock while in Stand-On. His HHA and GHA are both great at catching jump-ins, the latter of which also heals him on hit.
  • Meterless Anti-Airs: Kosaku lacks any real meterless anti-airs, making jump-ins against him rather effective as HHA and GHA can always be baited.
  • Self-Damage: Kosaku's explosions can damage and kill him, making using certain moves at specific ranges or performing certain routes at low health very risky.
  • Lack of Anti-Zoning: Kosaku struggles to deal with zoning due to his sluggish movement speed and bubbles not being very spammable due to his bomb limit.

Kosaku pushes Hayato, the son of Kira's stolen identity, towards the opponent. When he bumps into them, Killer Queen comes out from within his eye and travels into the opponent's own eye, detonating them from inside and rewinding time to the beginning of the match, healing Kosaku a bit while the opponent remains damaged.

  • Kosaku's health regenerates based on the level of the GHA
  • Hayato, despite trying to run away from Kosaku, does not run very far or very fast
