 In the year 20XX AD, in the Tibetan Tsangpo Canyon, there was a large-scale cave-in incident.
 First Lieutenant Kanae, a GSO (*1) intelligence operative assigned to an investigation, was suddenly relieved of her post and demoted.
 Kanae was informed by CIRO (*2) of the truth of the matter and was given a mission in secrecy.

 Glad you made it, First Liutenant Kanae... no wait, you are a dog from the CIRO now, wasn't it?
 What's wrong? Surprised to see that your former boss was a clone of your enemy?

 After finishing her investigation of the "Population Control Council" (*5), a secret society nested in the army and the police,
 Kanae was ordered to form a troops supervision cabinet in order to eradicate it.
  • Translation Notes
  • (*1) Kanae's rank is First Lieutenant (二等陸尉 [Nitou Rikui], abreviated 二尉 [Nii]) in the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF). [1] She is assigned to the Ground Staff Office (陸上幕僚監部) abreviated here as 陸幕 (Rikubaku), so I used the equivalent acronym. The GSO is a special agency of the Ministry of Defense that commands the GSDF. [2]
  • (*2) Naichō (内調), Cabinet Intelligence and Research Office. I chose to use the acronym since the 1st option is not translated and the 2nd is too large. [3]
  • (*3) Original text is 明日は我が身 (proverb) (今日は人の身明日は我が身) what happens to one today may happen to another tomorrow; misfortunes can happen to anyone
  • (*4) Here Kanae uses 人調審 (Jinchoushin) as a shorthand version of 人口調節審議会 (Jinkou Chousetsu Shingikai) "Population Control Council". It's the same method used in 内調 (Naichou) a shorthand for 内閣情報調査室 (Naikaku Jouhou Chousashitsu) the CIRO, so I used PCC as an equivalent acronym.
  • (*5) I found an almost similar name of this organization 大日本人口調節審議会 (Great Japan Population Control Council) from this movie: Satsujinkyō jidai [4] (The Age of Assassins [5]) not much to go on besides a similar purpose in both organizations but I thought it was curious.
