Super Naruto: Clash of Ninja 4/Stages
Super Naruto: Clash of Ninja 4 has a variety of different stages to play on. Most of them vary in their size and shape, which can potentially affect the viability of some combos and certain matchups as a whole. On this page is a list of each stage, and their quirks.
Asian Gate
♫ "Asian Gate" (from Bloody Roar Extreme)
Shape: Square
Size: 9 by 9
This stage was ported into SCON4 from Bloody Roar Extreme.
Aquarium
♫ "Aquarium" (from Bloody Roar Extreme)
Shape: Square
Size: 10 by 10
This stage was ported into SCON4 from Bloody Roar Extreme with some minor edits, including changing the stained glass mural to better fit the theming of this game by mimicking the statues on Final Valley. Texture art by Stripper Vash.
Chuunin Exams Finals
♫ Honsen
Shape: Octagon
Size: 13 by 13
The final stage of the last segment of the Chuunin Exams.
Chuunin Exams Preliminaries
♫ Battle Arena
Shape: Square
Size: 9 by 9
One of the settings of the third and final stage of the Chuunin Exams: the one-on-one combat examinations.
Deep Forest Emergence Rooftop
♫ Enclosed Upheaval Battle
Shape: Rectangle
Size: 6 by 13
The rooftop on which the Third Hokage fought Orochimaru, after it's been consumed by a resurrected Hashirama's signature Deep Forest Emergence technique. Similar shape to Tanzaku Castle and Orochimaru's Lair, but the long side is longer than the ones on both of those stages.
Note: If both Orochimaru and Sarutobi are combatants on this stage, the Four Flames formation will be visible in the background like the canon, and so will some of Orochimaru's followers.
Final Valley
♫ Valley of the End
Shape: Octagon
Size: 13 by 13
The monument valley where Naruto and Sasuke squared off at the end of Part I. Considered a neutral stage in competitive rulesets and is blessed with one of the best themes in the game, thus making it one of the most common picks in both competitive and casual play.
Great Naruto Bridge
♫ Bridge ~Haku~
Shape: Rectangle
Size: 9 by 27
An under-construction great bridge between lands, and where Team 7 fought Zabuza & Haku. This stage is a comedically long one (the long side being almost twice as long as the next longest stages), and so this pick can be an issue versus zoners and other defensive characters.
Ichiraku Ramen
♫ Konoha at Night
Shape: Octagon
Size: 9 by 9
Dinner hour at the ramen shop, and another one of the smaller stages in the game, so flying screen combos will be much more consistent.
Note: If Itachi is being played on this stage, all the characters hanging around in the background will be gone.
Konoha Gates (Day & Night)
Day: ♫ Outside Garden
Night: ♫ Konoha Gate ~G.N.T. 2 ver.~
Shape: Octagon
Size: 20 by 20
The front gates of the Hidden Leaf Village. Easily the largest "conventionally" shaped stage in the game, with lots of space for zoning and defensive characters to run around and also makes flying screen combo options very poor when not close to walls (which will happen often). Both versions of this stage are identical aside from aesthetic and music (Night version is better).
Konoha Police Department
♫ Konoha Police Department
Shape: Octagon
Size: 6 by 6
The police department of Konoha, that was formerly operated by the Uchiha clan. It still bears the Uchiha clan symbol out of respect. This stage is the smallest stage in the game, so small to where a running sidestep evasion gets you across most of the map. Very beneficial for rushdown and H2H characters like Neji, Lee, and Choji, and also allows for easier flying screen combos.
Silent Shrine
♫ Silent Shrine
Shape: Square
Size: 16 by 16
This stage was ported into the game from Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3. Largest square-shaped stage in the game.
Tanzaku Castle
♫ Tanzaku Castle
Shape: Rectangle
Size: 6 by 10
A segment of Tanzaku Town that's eventually destroyed by Orochimaru & Kabuto during the Search for Tsunade arc. This stage is one of the few with a length longer than the width, so this aspect must be kept in mind during footsies to avoid walling oneself accidentally.
Tenchi Bridge
♫ "Tenchi Bridge" from Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! EX 2
Shape: Square
Size: 13 by 13
This stage was ported into SCON4 from Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! EX 3. This is the bridge where Naruto & company fought Orochimaru in Naruto Shippuden. Neutral sized stage, but is square shaped so getting fully cornered is possible.
Three-Way Deadlock
♫ Three-Way Deadlock
Shape: Octagon
Size: 14 by 14
A standoff between Tsunade & Jiraiya with their slug and toad summons against Orochimaru and his snake summon, while the actual play area is in the middle of all of this. Similar to Final Valley in every aspect except for being one unit larger in diameter.
Uchiha Compound
♫ Uchiha Compound
Shape: Square
Size: 8 by 8
The long-since abandoned compound in Konoha that the entire Uchiha clan had been relegated to in the past. It's one of the smaller stages in the game, and the size and shape allows for more common and consistent corner combos and pressure.
Uchiha Hideout
♫ "The Uchiha Stage" from Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2
Shape: Square
Size: 13 by 13
This stage, modeled by Kyuubi with imported textures from Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, is the place where Sasuke and Itachi have their final fight in Naruto Shippuden. Functionally the same stage as Tenchi Bridge.
