Vampire Savior/Morrigan/Strategy
Strategy
Neutral
Morrigan's Movement at neutral should be unpredictable. Use More Back-dashes!. Be patient & gain meter at neutral. Aim to space yourself well for Anti-air opportunities
Anti Airs
Use Shadow Blade as Anti-Air & at neutral, for counter-poking. It's her best conditioning tool. Once they are conditioned to block, you have loads of AA options available; Far HK, Cr.hp, Cr.mp, Far MP, Far LP, Near LP, st.MK
Use the reset of successful anti-air to close the gap and setup an offense.
Frame Traps
If you find your opponent choosing Ireppa to avoid your high/low offense, than you should be focusing on attacks that beat jump start-up & also frame traps to keep the advantage until they stop jumping
st.mk, st.mk, st.mk. On offense, is Morrigan's best conditioning tool to make your opponent commit to blocking
Dashing Offense
- Dash j.lp, LINK j.lk connects on most of the cast as an overhead option that challenges jumps too.
- For a quick overhead that can also beat Tech-Hit attempts, I like a quick dash into a very late j.lp, aim for the toes
- If you are confident that are going to be standing, go for a high dash into j.mk. Everything links off of this normal, so input HK~HP~MP~LP~LK.
- The above d.mk strategy can also be delayed slightly to beat Tech-Hit attempts.
- An effective dashing offense is also a higher dash into j.lp, land command throw. Its damn near guaranteed if they do not tech-Hit.
- Against short crouchers, you can micro-dash into a d.mk and catch a nasty cross-up.
- Against non-short crouchers, do a mid-height dash & delay into a cross-up j.hk, land, st.mk xx DI.
- Landing low attacks or a dashing single overhead d.mk can be effective. It's a basic offense, so it's usually guarded by more experienced players or without additional conditioning
Jump-in Offense
Be sure to utilize a jump-in to setup offense too. This keeps your options rotating to be less predictable. You need to also effectively rotate between numerous jump-in options to maintain a high success rate. Morrigan's jump-in options are dependent on your spacing. Examples are below
- Jump-in options, Air-to-ground, at close range
- Standard 2-chain - confirm
- 3-chain on tall standers
- Early j.lp, land cr.lk route
- Late j.lp, land cr.lk route
