Assists this character provides

2HP (default assist)

SG squ chp.png

Multi-hitting low assist that is very active.

Center Stage (default assist)

SG squ qcfmp assist.png

Setup assist. When Squigly sings as an assist, the point character can exploit her forced screen movement while taking other actions. Running forward while calling the assist instantly closes the distance against a fleeing opponent. Timing the assist during a combo allows a point character to use a wall bounce in a combo at the middle of the stage. Using Center Stage in concert with a command throw can grab an opponent at a seemingly unfair range.

Drag and Bite

Lockdown assist that travels forward slightly.

Silver Chord

A hitgrab that travels forward. Slow, but covers a large horizontal space on front of Squigly. Staggers on hit so it can be used for setups. Peacock gets to do Teleport Mixups similar to H LnL Teleport Mixups with it.

Assists this character especially benefits from

  • Charge: Squigly benefits from an assist that lets her build one or both charges during a combo. This can be anything that has enough hitstun and allows Squigly to combo off of it. Examples show one or two assist options for each character that allow Squigly to get a charge. There are more than that, but they would be too plenty to list. Feel free to experiment.
    • Examples: Updo (Filia), H Lock'n'Load (Cerebella), Excella (Cerebella), s.HP (Peacock), Pillar (Parasoul), L Shot (Parasoul), s.HK (Fortune), Buer (Painwheel), H Bypass (Valentine), L/M Bomber (Double), Cilia Slide (Double), Beat Extend (Big Band), M/H A-Train (Big Band), H Spiral (Eliza), Horus (Eliza), H Drill (Fukua), L/M Shadow (Fukua), chairless c.HP (Beowulf), Chairtoss (Beowulf), H Beam (Robo-Fortune), s.HP (Robo-Fortune) ect.
  • Neutral Charge: She also benefits from a neutral assist or projectile assist, that gives her enough breathing room to get a charge in neutral. Again there are plenty of options for that. Anything that keeps your opponent occopied or in blockstun for long enough does the job. On a side note: Big Band with Beat Extend or A-Train might not be a dedicated neutral assist but his body is large enough for Squigly to hide behind him to charge.
    • Examples: H Lnl (Cerebella), L George (Peacock), L/H Shot (Parasoul), Stinger (Painwheel), M/H Bomber (Double), Brass (Big Band), H Beam (Robo-Fortune)
  • Defense: Squigly has poor defense, she can benefit from a DP assist that takes some heat off her.
    • Examples: Updo (Filia), Pillar (Parasoul), H Fiber (Ms.Fortune), L Bomber (Double), Beat Extend (Big Band), Chairtoss (Beowulf)
  • Lockdown: Squigly has acess to strong mixups but opponents can escape her pressure fairly easily by pushblocking. A lockdown assist can turn Squigly into a real offensive threat.
    • Examples: Hairball (Filia), Cerecopter (Cerebella), L/M Bomber (Double), Spiral (Eliza), H Drill (Fukua)
  • Vortex: There are setups for the s.MP(1) vortex midscreen but they are pretty inconsistent and character specific. Some assists allow Squigly to be able to do this vortex midscreen with no limitations which is fairly powerful (video).
    • Examples: Excella (Cerebella), H Bypass (Valentine), M/H A-Train (Big Band), H Spiral (Eliza), M Shadow (Fukua)

DHCs

  • SBO is a great safe DHC that keeps the opponent in blockstun and allows Squigly to either charge safely or go for a mixup.
  • Being able to DHC from SBO into a reversal super gives Squigly a strong defensive option.
  • Daisy Pusher is a command throw and very active. It's one of the few supers that beats car and great in DHC wars and situations where you need to break armor.
  • Inferno of Leviathan deals a lot of damage but can whiff in some situations.
  • It is only possible to DHC into Rage of the Dragon if you have both charges and the taunt.

Meter management

  • Squigly should have at least 1 bar for her charged Sing confirms.

She can build meter by stanceling s.HP in neutral.
