Here you can find the styling standards for the Eternal Fighter Zero wiki. These guidelines serve to make the wiki as readable as possible and editors are encouraged to follow them.
Writing Style
Point of View
- First person such as the usage of "I" or "me" should be avoided. Second person should be used for any content addressing the reader, such as guidance. Otherwise, third person should be used.
Grammar and Spelling
- Try to ensure that your grammar and spelling is as good as possible, but don't be discouraged from making edits if English is not your first language, or you are unsure how to word something correctly. Do the best within your abilities and other editors can edit for readability at a later point.
Slang, Humour, and Memes
- Any slang, jokes, or memes should be avoided in order to keep the wiki content as universally understandable as possible and to reduce informational clutter. Examples of things to avoid:
- References to Twitch or Discord emotes.
- Any information that requires context to be understood, such as community in-jokes.

Strategy/Okizeme
- Indentation using

is encouraged to improve readability and make sections of text stand out from their headers.
- Starting with Level 4 headers for subsections works best with the default font size of regular text. Underlining Level 4 headers and using non-underlined Level 5 headers for sub-subsections helps to differentiate the two different headers, as they barely differ in size.
- Template:EFZComboVideo should be used when adding embedded video examples to the page.
- Refer to Akiko's Strategy Section and Sayuri's Okizeme Section for examples.
Combo sections
- Indentation using

is especially important for combo sections to help lead the reader's eyes.
- Combo sections should be divided into Basic and Advanced. The Basic and Advanced headers should be Level 3 to help differentiate them from the bolded combo notation.
- Further subsections within Basic and Advanced should not use headers to avoid bolded text, this helps the various section and subsection headers and combo notation to stand out from each other. Instead, they should use underlined and italicised text.
- Combo notation should be bolded to help make it stand out from the rest of the text. The only bolded text should be the Basic and Advanced headers and the combo notation. Combo notation should follow the notation used in Template:ComboLegend-EFZ
- Template:EFZComboVideo should be used when adding embedded video examples to the page.

Gameplay Images
Image Quality
- If adding gameplay images, such as move images, please ensure that the settings in your EfzRevival.ini and CONFIG_EN.exe match the following:
- EfzRevival.ini:
- WindowWidth=640
- WindowHeight=480
- BackBufferWidth=640
- BackBufferHeight=480
- If you use settings on your PC to upscale or downscale the resolution, return the scaling to 100% before taking screenshots.
- Images taken should not be resized in an image editor before uploading.
Hiding GUI Elements
- By default ENTER will hide the EfzRevival GUI, this is defined in EfzRevival.ini:
- ToggleDisplay=DIK_RETURN
- If the battle HUD or background obscures a move or its hitboxes, a beta version of EfzRevival can be used to hide these elements: EfzRevival 1.02i - test2
- After installing, edit EfzRevival.ini and under the [Practice] section add:
- KillBG=DIK_T
- When T is pressed, the background will toggle between black and white which can be useful for creating contrast.
- After disabling the background, if you quit the match with ESC and start a new match the background will reappear but without the battle HUD. This can be useful to hide the battle HUD for screenshots without removing the background. To get the battle HUD back, restart the game.
